How has attending an HBCU set you up for success?
Attending an HBCU has given me the opportunity to learn more about my many curiosities. I think a misassumption about HBCU students is that we are limited. Limited to our own mindsets, cultures, and upbringings. Howard University has introduced me to so many different people, from various cultural backgrounds. Giving me the ability to successfully connect, influence, and communicate with others through digital content.
How are you looking to contribute to the professional world upon graduation?
After graduation, I look forward to continuing my digital content journey on a professional level. Showcasing my lifestyle, representing brands and organizations. Influencing the world with humor & positivity. Showing those in my generation that they can be successful at the same thing if they just put their minds to it.
What is your dream job?
My dream job would be producing & hosting my own talk show one day. You don’t see many African American males in those seats on daytime and late night television. Growing up I was that kid that would talk in class, otherwise known as a class clown. Now i’m a communications major, it just makes sense!
How do you express your personal sense of style through fashion?
I express my personal sense of style through fashion by however i’m feeling in the moment and whatever makes me comfortable. One day I could throw on a flared sweat-pant with a drop shoulder hoodie or baggy cargos and a nice tee. My style fluctuates often, representing my ability to adapt in various spaces.
What role will you play in the future of fashion?
When it comes to the future of fashion I see myself becoming an influencer. Either communicating the latest fashion trends or creating my very own. Fashion nowadays is so subjective. In a sense, it’s storytelling. Whatever your story may be.
