What inspired you to apply for the "Celebrating Fashion Future" program?
My passion for fashion and supply chain management inspired me to apply for the Celebrating Fashion’s Future program. I am eager to explore the intersection of business, sustainability, and innovation in the fashion industry. Howard University has equipped me with the skills and drive to contribute to the industry's future, and this program offers the perfect opportunity to learn from industry leaders, gain hands-on experience, and expand my network. I am excited to collaborate with like-minded creatives and professionals who are shaping the future of fashion while deepening my knowledge of sustainable and ethical practices.

I am driven by a desire to merge creativity with strategy, using fashion as a vehicle for impact. Growing up, I was fascinated by how style tells a story, reflecting culture, identity, and innovation. My journey at Howard University has reinforced my passion for business and fashion, particularly in supply chain management. A defining moment was witnessing a Black-owned brand rise to global success, showing me the power of representation and smart business decisions. That experience ignited my ambition to shape the future of fashion—where creativity, efficiency, and diversity thrive together.
How do you see yourself as part of Fashion's future? What unique perspective or contribution will you bring to the industry?
I see myself shaping the future of fashion by championing sustainability, innovation, and cultural representation. My passion for fashion goes beyond style—I want to help redefine the industry by promoting ethical practices and amplifying diverse voices. As an HBCU student, I bring a unique perspective that values inclusion and the power of storytelling through fashion. By combining creativity with a commitment to positive change, I aim to influence how brands engage with communities, embrace sustainability, and push the boundaries of design, ensuring the future of fashion is both impactful and inclusive.
What excites you about the intersection of entrepreneurship and corporate careers, and how do you see yourself navigating both worlds?
I feel that I would love to work in corporate meeting people and learning along the way excites me most. I would also say that my goal and passion is in entrepreneurship I feel it is important to have some background knowledge and experience before going out on your own. I hope to be able to accomplish both in my lifetime.
How has this program helped you grow personally and what's one insight you're taking with you for the future?
This program has been transformative, pushing me to grow both personally and professionally. It has deepened my understanding of the fashion industry while reinforcing the importance of networking, adaptability, and innovation. Engaging with industry leaders and like-minded peers has expanded my perspective on how creativity and business intersect, inspiring me to think more strategically about my future in fashion.
One key insight I’m taking with me is the power of representation—seeing diverse professionals succeed in the industry has solidified my belief that inclusion drives innovation. This experience has motivated me to use my voice and skills to advocate for diversity and sustainability in fashion. Moving forward, I am more confident, equipped with new knowledge, and ready to contribute meaningfully to an industry that is constantly evolving.
How does your campus Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) create community and opportunity for students?
Howard University’s Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) creates a strong community by connecting students passionate about fashion, retail, and business with industry professionals, mentors, and exclusive opportunities. Through networking events, panel discussions, and company partnerships, BRAG provides valuable exposure to career paths in fashion, merchandising, and brand management. The organization fosters a supportive environment where students collaborate, share knowledge, and gain hands-on experience through internships and workshops. BRAG also emphasizes professional development, equipping members with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the industry. By bridging the gap between students and leading fashion companies, BRAG ensures that the next generation of Black fashion and retail professionals are empowered, prepared, and well-connected to shape the future of the industry.
