How has attending an HBCU set you up for success?
Attending an HBCU has given me the confidence to network and connect with industry professionals, pushing me beyond my comfort zone. The Art and Fashion Department is dedicated to my peers' and my success, providing valuable opportunities within the fashion industry that empower us to chase our dreams fearlessly and create the lives we desire. Being surrounded by creative, ambitious students who express themselves through fashion, hairstyles, and entrepreneurship is truly inspiring—seeing them succeed reminds me that I can too.
What inspired you to apply for the "Celebrating Fashion Future" program?
What inspired me to apply for the 'Celebrating Fashion’s Future' program was simply the opportunity itself. Before applying, I had never heard of the program, but once I learned about it, I immediately saw it as an amazing opportunity. I’m glad I applied because it allowed me to meet incredible industry professionals, expand my network, and gain valuable learning experiences that will help shape my future in fashion.

What drives me is my family and seeing others live the life I aspire to have. Their success pushes me to step outside my comfort zone and embrace every opportunity for growth. I'm passionate about fashion and creativity, and witnessing others turn their dreams into reality inspires me to do the same. This fuels my determination to build a future that aligns with my passions and purpose.
How do you see yourself as part of Fashion's future? What unique perspective or contribution will you bring to the industry?
My unique perspective comes from thinking outside the box. I notice details others might overlook and enjoy approaching challenges in unconventional ways. This mindset helps me bring fresh ideas and push the boundaries of creativity in the fashion industry.
What excites you about the intersection of entrepreneurship and corporate careers, and how do you see yourself navigating both worlds?
What excites me about the intersection of entrepreneurship and corporate careers is the balance between innovation and structure. Entrepreneurship allows me to express my creativity and drive, while corporate careers provide valuable mentorship and resources for growth. I see myself navigating both worlds by leveraging the skills and insights gained from each, as they complement and strengthen one another.
How has this program helped you grow personally and what's one insight you're taking with you for the future?
This program has helped me grow personally, especially in time management and having the courage to try new things. Balancing team meetings for our presentation with other class presentations and my personal life has further enhanced my time management skills. It has taught me how to juggle multiple priorities and stay organized, all while stepping outside my comfort zone.
How does your campus Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) create community and opportunity for students?
BRAG at Clark Atlanta University creates a community by connecting students passionate about fashion and retail with industry professionals. BRAG helps students build essential skills and confidence for success in the fashion world. The group also fosters collaboration among diverse students, providing a supportive environment for sharing ideas and gaining industry insights.
