What inspired you to apply for the "Celebrating Fashion Future" program?

I was inspired to apply for Celebrating Fashion's Future after seeing BRAG post about the program on Instagram last year while it was happening. I remember watching the stories live and being in genuine awe of the experience and the access students were getting. I've always loved fashion so seeing students from my school immersed in the industry definitely stuck with me.

What drives you? Share your passions, values, or a defining experience that shaped who you are today.

What really drives me is knowing that I haven't reached my full potential yet. I haven't accomplished all my goals, I haven't traveled to all the countries I want, and that whats motivates me. Im inspired by knowing there is so much left for me experience and I'm just getting started on my journey. Alongside, I'm deeply passionate about creative expression, especially within the black community. Black people are the ultimate trendsetters and seeing how we express ourselves through fashion, art and culture inspires me.

How do you see yourself as part of Fashion's future?

I'm drawn to the intersection of fashion, marketing and culture and pay close attention to what's happening on social media, in music and within communities. I can translate those insights into ideas that feel relevant, inclusive and meaningful. I ultimately want to help build an industry that doesn't just set trends but also creates spaces for people to feel seen, connected and inspired.

How does your campus Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) create community and opportunity for students?

HU BRAG creates community and opportunity by having opportunities like these!!! Students gain clarity on what they want their future to look like through enrichments like these.

How has attending an HBCU set you up for success?

Attending an HBCU has set me up for success by surrounding me with high-achieving individuals who look like me and often share similar stories. Constantly being around driven, creative Black students pushes me to raise my own standards, learn from one another and believe more deeply in what I'm capable of. As stated in the program I get to experience when "iron sharpens iron, sparks fly" at my HBCU.
